The Foundation is working hard to develop new plans and programmes to deliver our new strategy. Some new programmes are already underway, for example our partnership with the Structural Integrity Research Foundation and the recent LR Foundation call for proposals in the area of Nanotechnology. However in other areas we have yet to formulate our plans.
In delivering our new strategy we would like to build on valuable research capability built up through grants made under the Lloyd's Register Educational Trust. With this in mind our Board of Trustees has agreed to a programme allowing some existing grant holders to apply for an extension of their funding to address the Foundation's new strategy. Letters are being sent to eligible principal investigators (current grant holders whose funding is expected to come to an end before end of June 2016) outlining the programme and inviting them to apply.
